Please join us in celebrating the icy, steamy, lush, stormy, snowy, wet, life-sustaining power of water. Water is life. As no species can live without water, water must be declared a universal human right afforded to all people.
World Water Day Is March 22nd, 2008
This year, A Drop of Life rocks out World Water Day with our partners Water for All, Think Outside the Bottle, and the Rain Bird Intelligent Use of Water Film Competition. The best way to celebrate the life-giving power of water is through action. We have the opportunity to keep our water resources clean, conserve our limited supply, and become more socially active in decisions that affect our collective responsibility and universal right.
Take Back The Tap!
One primary way we can make change is to stop buying bottled water. Many large companies are buying our lakes and rivers and selling it back to us at prices higher than oil. As corporations vie for our dwindling freshwater supply, bottled water is becoming a billion-dollar industry. Forty percent of bottled water is repackaged tap water. By reclaiming our tap water, we can save money, help communities retain their local water rights, and conserve humanity's most vital resource for future generations.
